- KEY POINTS
- All letter requests should go through piaa@gersteinlab.org
- We may go back and forth on drafts a few times
- If the letter is confidential, do NOT send drafts to LI
- Individuals without initials in the lab should go through lab mentor
- GENERAL OVERVIEW FOR STUDENTS AND INTERNS
- In general, you will contact Mark to see if he is willing to write a letter for you.
- If your mentor will be the sole signer, there is no need to contact Mark. Always contact your mentor for issues related to distribution of the letter.
- If your letter will be co-signed by your mentor and Mark, work with your mentor on a draft and then have your mentor work together with Mark.
- If your letter will be signed by only Mark, work with your mentor on formulating a plan and have your mentor discuss further with Mark. Discussion between student and Mark may also be required.
